I did a simple ESB with 25 lbs of grain targeting 12 gals. I ended up with 11.5 gal and achieved 85% efficiency (compared to 70-75% I used to have with my old setup). Since I used my old numbers for the recipe, my ESB will be on a very strong side Smile I stopped sparging after I collected 14 gals though I still had 1.022 gravity at that moment. So there is room to bump efficiency more -- I just need to plan for it from the beginning.

Overall everything worked as expected except the boil kettle temperature probe was stuck at 140F for a while but then quickly jumped to 213F at boil. I tried to switch the probes on the panel and the issue "migrated" with the switch so it is the probe itself having problems. I will monitor it next time and see if any repairs are needed.

Thanks Kal for all the work you put into this project!

Aleksey

Great stuff!

85% mash efficiency is very high and great for the first time. It will only go up from there too as you get used to the setup.

Enjoy the ESB. Cheers!

Kal
