|
|
Greetings, I saw some of the posts on this forum and thought you might be able to steer me in the right direction on a motor wiring issue. I understand electricity fairly well, but I'm not following the motor wiring. My old motor had a half dozen colored wires, the new motor has 9 black wires labeled T1-T9. The precludes me from doing a simple 1-for-1 swap of the wires.
The motor hooks to a drum switch that reverses the direction. The drum switch has 4 wires and a ground. The motor example with the switch shows 6 wires, but my new motor has 9. Diagrams attached.
Any guidance would be REALLY appreciated.

The motor is used for make a boat hoist go up/down.
That's all of the information that came with the motor, I was hoping that the T1, T2, T3, T4, etc, had some consistent definition across motors. It's a Mophorn motor.
Original motor diagram attached. Original wiring:
Motor pink/yellow to switch orange
Motor red to switch red
Motor black/blue to switch black
Motor orange to switch white

They're simply tap points. Doesn't explain the voltage or what they do. Motors are not consistent. There are thousands of motor types and styles with different amounts of wires depending on function/specs.

Unfortunately that doesn't explain at all what the requirements are for the motor. It explains wire colours, probably in case you replaced with an identical motor. Since you're not doing that, you need an actual schematic and details on the motor specs you're replacing if you plan on replacing with a different motor.
I'm also moving this to the off-topic forum as it doesn't have anything to do with building a brewery.
Good luck!
