(More links will be added as others offer up rhizomes)
Hop rhizomes always go up for pre-order early in the new year and these always sell out fast. Rhizomes are basically pieces of root (or stem if you want to be correct about it) that grow horizontally underground and produce lateral shoots. You plant them in the spring and they grow new shoots, sprouting up and growing fast over the season with hops ready to pick in the late summer.
Hop bines grow well in a variety of climates (from hot equatorial to cold northern climates) and are able to climb their way up just about anything.
They are a rewarding way to make a beer that you can call even more your own. You can try your hand at brewing a fresh hop IPA just like Sierra Nevada!
