The angle cut of the new pickup tube included with the hop stopper left a little more wort behind in the kettle than anticipated. I missed my volume into the fermenter by just under 1/2 gallon compared with my previous brews without it. Worked well otherwise.

That's odd! Have you emailed Hop Stopper support about it? They're at HopStopper@TheElectricBrewery.com and will be able to assist. Most times I leave nothing behind. The manual has lots of hints/tips as well.

Cheers!

Kal

Here's a video/pic where I decided to try a test to see how much wort the Hop Stopper 2.0 actually left behind on a massively hoppy batch of Wookey Jack Black IPA. I tilted my boil kettle and waited, then dumped it in a graduated beaker. This batch had 13.3 oz of kettle hops and only about 200ml of wort was left behind. That’s less than a cup. Not bad!

I find that there is about a quart or more left in the hoses/pump/chiller when the BK goes "dry." That amount is not related to which version of the hop stopper being used.

As I have stated before, I love the Hop Stopper 2.0!

I would say that wort that is outside the kettle that is lost is not something that is related to the Hop Stopper (i.e. The Hop Stopper can't affect that).

I agree. My second sentence was meant to imply that.
