Thanks for posting. I’m using brewing forums (YouTube fishing videos, old hockey games, etc.) as a good escape these days. Fun to live through someone else going through a build that I went through a few years back.

Agree with the statement about buying once and doing it right. I have never regretted my Electric Brewery control panel. Brewed a batch on Wednesday night in my basement brewery and it was so peaceful. Made me realize that a dedicated brewing area was so nice in times like this.

Keep posting and we’ll keep living through you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm trying to get everything done.

Just so happened on HBT, a guy contacted me about my old panel. I asked him to take a pic of it for me. Still looking good 7 years later..

Thermapen MK4 is on sale for $79.99 @ 20% off. I just picked one up. I have one already, but I use that for my smoker.

I'd grab one if you can!

I finally made it home. Still working on the control panel. Trying to figure everything out. I'm using DIN components, and the diagrams I've looked at are crap.

Wort chiller is done:

Wine fridges for the FV's.

I would post pics of everything else, but no one wants to see bags of brewing salts and misc stuff.

Once I get this control panel worked out, Ill post more. I'm REALLY ready to brew. Just gotta finish this panel, then I'm ready to go.

What's your order number? The only recent (not yet delivered) one I see on the email you've used here in the forum is a couple of DIN rail adjustable DC power supplies ordered late in the evening on Friday (4/24/2020) so it'll go out after Monday. No contactors ordered from us from what I can tell. All your other orders were March 31 or earlier and have long ago been delivered. Email me at kal@theelectricbrewery.com if anything seems amiss...

Yea, just the DIN DC power supplies. The contactors and breakers I stole from my dad lol......

Cool, if they ship out Monday, I'll make room for them and pre-wire for them.

I'm almost ready to brew! I'll post pics of everything once I have it up and going.

It takes 2 1/2 5 gallon buckets for 50 lbs of 2 row, if anyone was wondering....

I have another 2 buckets filled with 6 lbs each of what it takes to make the NEIPA.

While not everyone would care, I would make sure anything you store grain in is food safe. Not sure Home Depot buckets are rated as such.
I recommend: https://shop.theelectricbrewery.com/pages/6-gallon-12-diameter-plastic-food-grade-bucket-without-lid

Thanks for the info!

Yeast starter is in the works....

Ferm chambers setup with Inkbird temp controllers:

Cutting up the panel and using the hole punches:

Almost all the stuff in:

Labels:

Should have the panel up and going tomorrow. And do a "dry" run before the big first brew day.

Panel is "almost" done. Just gotta wire in the VOLT and AMPS meters.

My first brew day is probably 2 days away!

Yeast starter waiting patiently in the fridge for brew day....

Pumps are done!

I'm finally finished with the panel. I'm about to run to the hardware store and switch out my outdoor welding plug for the one needed for the panel. And then give it a test run.

Hop candy in the books. Too cold outside to put the FV's in fridges outside.

Hop stand @ 180.

It's so much fun to watch!

How long does this beer usually take to ferment?

That's kind of a loaded question.

How much yeast did you pitch? (How many billions of cells)?
What yeast?
What batch size? What gravity?
Into what wort temp?
What's the ambient temp of where you're fermenting?
To what ppm level did you aerate/oxygenate?

The short answer is: The yeast will be done when it's done. Wink Don't rush it. It's in charge now.

I purposely do not list fermentation times in my recipes as most brewers do not follow my recommended pitch rates or process exactly so times will vary. What’s more important is when to take action (example: raise temp about 5 points from terminal gravity), not after an ambiguous amount of time.

Cheers!

Kal

Thanks for the tips!

The yeast starter must have been a good one. No activity for a couple days, so I took a reading, 1.013. I'm cold crashing now.

Kal, the recipe is awesome! The sample I tasted was soooooo delicious!

Took a gravity reading after no activity for a few days. Spot on what final gravity is supposed to be, 1.013.
