I am in the middle of a major brewery re-build, and attempting to salvage as much of the existing plumbing (copper piping/valves) as possible. For a portion of my re-circulation loop however, I would like to use 1/2" ID Silicon tubing (recommended on this site) from the Mash exit to the inlet side of my pump. My question is...since this tubing seems to be quite soft/flexible, would I possibly run into "hose collapse" problems with a challenging beer that tends to "stick" allot (like a pumpkin beer, or wheat beer)? I also want to use a section of this silicone tube in my chiller section between boil kettle outlet and another pump that pushes it to my chiller. Not as much suction there, but much hotter. If hose collapse is an issue in these two areas, what type of hose should I be using to handle the suction better?
