I didn't assemble the pots. I assumed that the PO bought everything as recommended, but looking at this I'd guess not. I'll check the links tomorrow when I have time. Thanks.

If you bought the pots and everything from the same person and he bought 8 years ago, that explains it. The newer stainless base elements didn't exist 8 years ago.
