Just filled up my HTL to leak test it and had a bit of a surprise. No leaks from any of the drilled holes and from any of the threaded fittings, but I had water coming out of one of my quick disconnects and water was dripping out of the temperature probe.

This is my first time using disconnects, but I don't see anything wrong with either the male or female side. I had a tube running from my main kettle out to my pump inlet, and a tube running from the pump outlet to the water return near the top of the kettle. The disconnect started leaking as soon as I open the ball valve on the pump outlet. Didn't even have time to turn the pump on. I did have my kettle filled to the absolute brim, so water could have been flowing backwards from the top of the kettle, but I'm not sure why the disconnect would leak. Any suggestions.

For the temperature probe, the drips were coming out of the pin area. I'm not sure how that is even possible unless I have a really bad part. I did not have the detachable side with the wires connected, but I don't think that should matter. The inside should be water tight. Right?

Any help anyone could provide would be most helpful.

Thanks

Correct. If you ordered from us please reply to your order email and we'll look after getting this fixed for you. Sorry for the issues.

As for the leaking QDs, some pictures would be helpful there as mentioned above. Were they purchased from us?

Thanks Kal. I just sent you an email with my original invoice.

I'm going to do some testing with my quick disconnects in the morning and see if I can figure something out. If I can't solve it, I'll post some pictures.

My brewery has been in planning for years, but is finally coming together!
