Hi all, its been a while since I've posted...

I've been working on an recipe for the past several weeks attempting to clone B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher Oatmeal Imperial Stout brewed by Hoppin' Frog brewery in Akron, Oh. For those of you who aren't familiar with this particular brew its won multiple gold medals at the GABF, most recently in 2011. To me, this brew is pitch black and viscous like engine oil. It has flavors of coffee, chocolate, toffy, and dark fruits (raisin, plumb, cheery)

I don't have much experience with recipe formulation to this point nor with brewing stouts or porters. Therefore, I was hopping that a few of you with more knowledge and experience could weigh in and make suggestions for tweaks to the grain bill.

13lbs 8.0 oz Maris Otter
3lbs Flacked Oats
1lb 8.0 oz Munich Malt
1lb Aromatic Malt
1lb Chocolate Malt
1lb Roasted Barley
1lb Special B
8.0 oz Black Malt

3.50 oz Challenger @ 60 minutes
3.50 oz East Kent Goldings @ 10 minutes
0.50 oz Crystal dry hop at high krausen

Yeast starter made with WY1084 to 377-400B cells

specifications: Est OG 1.117, IBUs 66, SRM 60, ABV 11%

I’ve split your post from our RIS recipe. Good luck!
