You can also remove the lid and floating plastic piece and replace with a hose attached to the center tube. Run that hose to a jar of sanitized water.

I just removed the cap that sits on the inside and there was definitely a suction that was created. Thinking that it was created when I added co2 to the carboy. Either way, there are no gas bubbles or any other indication that it is still fermenting. Never used us-05 before. Could it be finished fermenting in 7 days?

I just checked the airlock again and it did it again. I thought that only happened when people would cold crash and it created pressure change and vacuum. Happened to me last year.

It was a p.i.a but I pressure transferred from the carboy to a o2 purged keg. I hit my mark on the sg, but missed it on the finish. I have no idea what the issue was with the air lock, but maybe a stuck fermentation? I used my refractometer and the gravity was around 1.025 and should have been closer to 1.011 from 1.043 starting. Just have it hooked up to co2 with a few psi on it. Not sure what to do?

Refractometers do not work when alcohol is present.

It makes me feel better that I could be closer to FG and I’ll be sure to use a hydrometer next time. I did put about 11psi in the keg and attached the spunding valve should the beer still be fermenting while I’m away.

Do you mean you purged the 02 out with Co2 before you transferred? Hope you didn't mean you filled the keg with Oxygen before you transferred.

Check the gravity with a hydrometer. Refractometers have trouble reading gravity when alcohol is present.

Yes, filled keg with co2 to remove the oxygen.
