Hello,

My boil plug is still getting 54 volts once the SSR light has gone off. Once the light comes back on the plug gets 240 volts. The light on the front of the control panel for my element was on but very dim with 54 volts and bright as usual with the 240 volts. PID seems to be working fine. Is it possible that the SSR is not fully closing the switch allowing some current leak?

Thanks for the help!

This is likely completely normal. Common question so it's in our troubleshooting FAQ.

See: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25460

Specifically the section "The ELEMENT ON yellow light glows dimly when the ELEMENT SELECT switch is in the ON position without the element connected! Is something broken? "

Thanks Very much, I should have just read the troubleshooting guide to begin with. Will be a few weeks away before I can test with water but looks like the control panel is good to go!
