Attended the BYO Boot Camp in Indianapolis. Our group was in the Advanced All Grain Techniques lecture and hands on sessions with Gordon Strong. Had a chance to speak with him and for those of you familiar with his books, he talks about his set-up - propane fired kettles and mash tun in his two books. Over the summer, though, he switched to an all electric system.

Overall the course was great and I would recommend attending one if you get the chance. Attached is an excerpt from his presentation and some good advice...

Cool! Thanks for sharing.

I've read both of his books (more than once) and enjoyed both - there's a lot to be learnt from them:

http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/Modern-homebrew-recipes

What's interesting I find is that if you re-read them every very years (more so with Brewing Better Beer as it's older), you take away different things because your own brewing has advanced. You don't realize what you missed the first time you read it, or more exactly, you didn't quite get the reasoning around some of the things you read the first time.
