A little while ago I bought a Keg King Malt Muncher 3 roller mill. Works great, but very tiring on the arms with 9kg of grain. So I decided to motorise it with a motor from All American Ale Works. I managed to finish this project today.

I had a piece of off-cut kitchen worktop which was 800mm x 600mm. First thing was to cut a hole for the mill outlet from the rollers.

Following on from this, the shaft of the motor was 1.25 inches higher the the shaft of the mill, so I had to raise the mill to align the shafts.

Next I mounted the legs. I used 4 Rothley (H)870mm Black Worktop Support legs that I bought at B&Q. I cut 15.5 inches from each leg to lower the table and stabilise it better and to suit the height of my grain bucket. I also fitted some black metal 40mm worktop edging, except for at the front which had a curved edge.

View underneath showing the rollers.

Final view of the finished mill and bench, with the drum switch wired up and ready for use.

Here's a video of the mill working: https://youtu.be/VlCclbaTRGg

Did you go with the 180 or 240rpm? I was looking into getting that motor too. Worth it??

I got the 180 rpm, but 220v. To be honest, with the 1:10 gearbox on the motor the output speed is nearer 150 rpm, but it does a good job with plenty of torque.
