Brewed my first EB batch on June 3, 2017 as detailed in another post.

Saturday, July 8, 2017 time to package. I decide to bottle the ale (exactly 52 bottles) and keg the premium lager for additional lagering.

First impression. I have NEVER brewed such a clean and clear beer! I used the usual Irish moss finings in the last 15 minutes of the boil. Therefore, I surmise the clean and clear is due to the superb MLT filtering and the exact boil temperature throughout the boil (allowing particles to coagulate and fall out)

Ale: FG 1.005 (hydro temp adjusted)

Lager: FG 1.009 (hydro temp adjusted).

ABV: Ale 6.3%, Lager 5.8%. Overshot the 5.1% recipe ABV probably due to this being my first EB and going with a conservative 75% brew house efficiency.

Taste the hydro samples. Wife likes the lager more. I mentioned more than once, neither one is carbonated. However, I believe wife likes the lager more due to the lager having slightly more residual sugars than the ale (at least at this point).

In the past I knew when bottled items were carbonated as they'd clear from the top down. Can't use this method now as the beer is already clear. I'll just have to be patient and wait.

Overall I'm happy with the results. I've tweaked my brew house efficiency to 80.2% and I'm looking forward to the next brew session (Probably the split cream ale/standard lager, but I'll replace the table sugar with flaked corn/crystal malt/carapils).
