Anyone have any projects this weekend or plan on brewing? I'll be rebuilding my brewery. Just sold my Keggles to another member on here and have to start drilling some holes in my new kettles.

Brewed the last three weekends trying to replenish my inventory after a "busy" holiday season.

I've been splitting my brew days into two day events: day one mash and sparge to the boil kettle lid on then day two; boil and into the fermenter. that way i'm not dedicating a whole day to the 5.5 hrs schedule.

this weekend.. out to dinner and a movie

I'm putting together my no moving hose set up this weekend, or I was, got the wrong parts delivered and was heated, ever had that where you swear on what you ordered and come to find out you were wrong, I wasn't even drinking, maybe thats the issue

I'm reorganizing my garage/brewery to make room for my new (well, 30 year old but new to me) TIG welder.

I've been doing odd jobs here and there for a couple local places and am trying to get a good shop welder..

Lincoln Idealarc TIG300/300 is what I learned on, and what I used to own before I had to sell for a move.

If this picks up as a side line, I'll probably buy a Square Wave 200 as a man portable machine. (the TIG 300/300 weighs about 870 pounds without torches or tanks)

I need to start working on my next round NEIPA changes (the beer I'm calling "Electric Hop Candy"). I keep tweaking, looking for the perfect NEIPA.

I got my 40.5mm knockout in last night so I was able to punch out my holes for my elements. I used a weldless tri-clamp fitting. I still have several more holes to drill to get my system up and going again but I'm getting closer.

Which weldless Triclamp fitting did you go with?

Got it in the garage.. Getting it out of the garage where it was in Altoona, PA was an adventure.

Opened it up and cleaned up about 30 years of shop dust.

I went with the one Bobby sells at Brew Hardware. He recommends a 41mm hole but I found a 40.5 knockout works perfect!

Here is the fitting:

Here is the pod:

I was happy with the quality.

It's not the weekend anymore but figured I'd keep posting on this thread with my updates. Added a sight glass last night to my BK.

The weekend is about to start. Anyone have any beer related plans this weekend?

I'll be working on the HLT this weekend. Got the coil in yesterday and will be installing that, temp probe, and sight glass. If I feel real motivated, I'll rewire my control panel for my new temp controller.

Wife is having a Super Bowl party on Sunday.

In cask:
Extra Special Bitter

On Tap
Bohemian Pilsner
Extra Special Bitter (same as cask, doing a test)
Strawberry-Pear Cider

On Gas in reserve:
Misfit Stout
Peach-Mango Cider

My deployment was just moved up.. Not sure if I'm going to brew again during the week and have it sit when I am gone.

Kal,
How much water do you have to have in your HLT to cover up the whole coil? Mine was right about 13 gallons, maybe a bit less.

Well, I added the temp probe to the output of the CFC and used the double temp display in place of my Mash Tun PID on my control panel.

I had some fun doing a water test and seeing how the output temp of the wort (in my case just test water) was affected by changing the flow of cold water and or changing the wort output speed.
