Its a psuedo-commercial shelving unit i bought at Sams Club...They have similar ones at both Lowes and Home Depot. I opted for this type stand because it gave me some additional storage options/capabilities due to limited space for brewing. I also needed a place to mount my controller and I was able to do that using a fully articulating tv wall mount. Its on casters so I can move it around. The shelving beams come with cross braces but i also added plywood and then the black surface you see is a 48"x 60" stall mat i bought from Tractor supply, which I cut in half. It fits the unit perfectly.

Thanks!
I'm leaning towards something more open on the top/sides, but this gives me some great ideas. And, the stall mat is a slick idea too. Well done.

Holter also has the same shelving unit and uses the included wire shelves on the sides to hang things off of. Look through his build thread and you can see how his is much more open. This is what I am trying to emulate with my set up. http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25229&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0

I have the same setup as well. When i was building my system i contacted Holter on how he liked the wood base for his shelving system. He explained that it's kinda a pain and wish he had gone with something else.... for my build i used a thick stall mat you can get at tractor supply. one big sheet cuts in half for two shelves. i have been brewing on my electric system for a year now and love the simple cleanup of the stall mat. looks new and easy to clean.

I had seen Holter's set up and decided that it would work for me since i have a limited brewing space. I got the stall pad idea from Paradise,. I didn't want to have to paint the wood or seal it and it was relatively inexpensive.

I use several in my system. You look as if you already may have it worked out but checkout the article in BYO.

I like the idea! I'm always looking for ways to streamline the process. Quick question, what is the 3-way valve I've circled in red for?

you can use any pumps you want as far as the ball valves I would suggest true WOG1000 from dudadiesel for the 3 way valves

i decided to post this picture again

Blue triangles = 3-way valves
Yellow circles = regular ball valves
Red circles = ball valves on my pump that are used to prime the pumps if needed.
The yellow circle at the left top of the HLT is the fill valve/ hot liquor recirc valve. ( on the backside of the keggle)

Thanks to Firebrewmedic43 and Ozarks for the pics - great setups. Just wondering if there are any lessons learned or things you would have done differently? I'm considering a similar setup but with actuated valves.

Also Ozarks, any chance you could take a pic of the rest of your rig?

Thanks again and nice work!

as for electric valves be vary careful, I researched this for a couple of days, look at the specs, some are not rated for high temp or pressure and some aren't full bore

I have hundreds of dollars of useless parts laying around from trying to buy cheap

if i had to build my rig again I wouldn't try to find the cheapest parts available, I would save for the best; especially the pumps, I seem to have the most problems with pump vapor lock and cavitation
