As my brewing has got more advanced I am finding that I have built up quite a store of acids. This includes sulphuric, hydrochloric, CRS, lactic, and phosphoric. At the moment all are stored in screw top plastic bottles in their diluted, usable form and ready for use. The bottles are of the type that the acid was generally delivered to me in. The bottles themselves are then stored in a "Really useful" box which has a clamped lid and are in my loft storage area. They are perfectly safe from anyone coming into contact with them, since I am the only one with the loft access. What worries me is the storage temperature. I have a remote digital thermometer to monitor the temperature in the loft and in the recent spate of hot weather this has shown 30C. Should I be concerned about product deterioration with temperatures at this high? I have tried to find some specific recommendations about storing acids, but information seems scant on the web. My gut feeling says most acids stored in sealed bottles should be ok, but I do wonder about the lactic acid for instance.
