I'm afraid I do not use BeerSmith. Sorry! (More info on what I use and why here).
Everyone's efficiency is different so you'll have to adjust for your specific setup as well, and odds are the hops AA% won't the same either so some adjustment (mostly in the 60 min addition) would be required.
BeerSmith I believe also has a bunch of equipment based parameters that won't necessarily transfer from one setup to the next, so I highly recommend that people just recreate recipes themselves in whatever software they use to make sure they don't overlook something that the original person created that may not apply to your setup. It also helps the new brewer learn.
Good luck!
Kal

You are totally right! i will recreate this recipe as you recommend.
Btw do you still recommend the Hanna Phep 5 pH meter?, i will buy my first ph meter soon and seems the Hanna is the first candidate.

Neat story about the upside down label.

I brewed Kal's California Common. Bought Anchor Steam at a local store. Had folks do a blind taste test/evaluation between the two beers. Everyone thought mine (thanks to Kal's recipe) was better than the real thing!

Yes, is a shame, but, IMO, no real surprise. Anchor Steam was one of my favorite brews. Notice the "was" part...
Anchor Steam hasn't been the same for many years. Bought a 6 pack a year ago to refresh my memory and compare my brewed "Anchor Steam" vs the real deal. I immediately noticed the Anchor Steam wasn't the same taste/flavor from when I drank it in the past.
At least we have the ability to brew the CA Common aka Anchor Steam the way it was when it was good.
On a side note, I really wanted an Anchor Steam tap handle for my keezer. Anchor had these available for a reasonable price until they changed logos (maybe due to Sapporo purchase?).
I emailed Anchor Brewing a nice email inquiring about the "old" logo tap. Received a rude reply.
Seems this is a common thread. The "big boys" purchase a craft brewery with all sorts of promises, etc. Within a few years the brewery is dead.

I didn't catch/notice until reading these posts. Was the recipe SRM correct or adjusted too after changing the crystal malt?

OK. I checked. The original recipe with 40L had an SRM of 10. The new recipe with 60L has an SRM of 11.
Unsure why the Calories increased from the original 165 kcas per 12.0 fl oz to the new 265 kcal per 12 fl oz.
And the ABV changed from 4.9% to 5%, but whom would notice? (Don't expect an answer as it's no one.)

I agree. All the, IMO, foolish "Nutrition" labels on things. If I want to eat snack or drink a beer, I'm really NOT concerned about nutrition. Just more stupid government rules.
