Operation Bravo - Homebrew Competition and Hero Appreciation

We have some exciting news to share. Homebrew For Heroes has been planning a unique type of homebrew competition and hero give back event.

The event will be on November 7, 2015 from 12-7pm at Shannon Brewing in Keller TX. shannonbrewing.com
It should be understood that you must be present at this competition in order to register an entry and compete. This is NOT a typical competition that you can ship entries to.

This is a BJCP Sanctioned competition. Each homebrewer will bring 3 chilled bottles for juding by our BJCP judges along with a keg, case or two of bottles for People's Choice judging. The People's Choice judging will be done by heroes. At the end of the event, the brewer with the most votes wins the prize. While it is not required you bring an entire 5 gallon batch to the competition, the more you bring the better (hard to get votes when you are out of beer).

This provides a friendly competition and allows homebrewers to give back to a hero by being able to pour a beer for them and say thanks in person.

The entry fee is $25 which covers a tshirt, pint glass, and brewery tour for each contestant.

Shannon Brewing will be offering discounted tours for heros on that day should a hero want to partake of even more beer that day.

The prizes are pretty SWEET too.

1st Prize:

ProAm brewing session with Shannon Brewing (may or may not be the winning entry that is brewed), a Homebrew 4 Heroes Stainless Growler (with a fill from Shannon Brewing), a Deep Wood Products Party Tap for the stainless growler, a Hombrew 4 Heroes .50 Cal bottle opener/tap handle, and a $50 gift certificate to Texas Brewing Inc. http://deepwoodbrew.com/accessories/37-party-tap.html


2nd Prize

A Homebrew 4 Heroes Stainless Growler (with a fill from Shannon Brewing), a Hombrew 4 Heroes .50 Cal bottle opener/tap handle, and a $25 gift certificate to Texas Brewing Inc.

3rd Prize

A Homebrew 4 Heroes Glass Growler (with a fill from Shannon Brewing), A Hombrew 4 Heroes .50 Cal bottle opener/tap handle, and a $10 gift certificate to Texas Brewing Inc.

The second piece of judging is the People's Choice judging. Heroes will deposit a bottle cap in a container for their favorite beer. At the end of the night, the most caps wins the prize.

Peoples Choice

The winning recipe immortalized in a kit marketed to homebrew shops nationwide as "Picked by Heroes", a Homebrew 4 Heroes Stainless Growler (with a fill from Shannon Brewing), a Deep Wood Products Party Tap for the stainless growler, and a Hombrew 4 Heroes .50 Cal bottle opener/tap handle.
