Anyone use FermCap-S at all. It was made to lesson the krausen on fermentation but the Brew guy at the LBS told me to put 2 drops in per gallon at the boil to control the hot break and potential boil over. I tried it today and it completly killed the hot break. I put it in just as the boil started and of course the hot break. As soon as I put it in it was just like the hot break was over. He said it breaks the surface tension what ever that means.

I use it in my yeast starters because I have a much bigger problem with boilovers in an Erlenmeyer flask than in my kettle. It works fantastically.

Like Kal mentioned it seems to be quite controversial in its use, but like Tungsten said I've been known to use it in my 2L flask when I'm boiling wort for starters.
