Hey everybody just wanted to check and see if I might have a seep or if I'm getting the average life expectancy out of a small 5lb tank of beer gas. I'm currently getting about 2-2.5 kegs (5 gal) worth of fun out of each tank of beer gas. Does this seem normal or strange?

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're force carb'ing to average volumes, 2 to 2.5 five gallon kegs out of a 5 lb CO2 tank is really low. I'd expect at least 10. My guess is you have a leak somewhere.

Ive had 4- 5 gallon kegs on the same tank for at least 60 days sometimes it will go more if I don't force carb

The duration it takes to consume doesn’t matter. The amount of CO2 in solution reaches equilibrium and stays there. Once there you can take 2 weeks to finish a keg or 10 years. Same amount of CO2 used.

I assumed when the OP said "Beer Gas" that he was talking about Nitrogen/CO2 mix. That is what I have always called that mix which I used to push stouts. I find my Nitrogen/CO2 tank doesn't last as long as my CO2 tank does. That is why I asked what pressure he had his regulator at.

I'm actually running my pressure at 35 PSI and I'm not doing any sort of force carbonation. Just hooking my keg up and waiting 2 weeks before pulling a pint.

If you force carbonate with CO2 before you hook up your Nitro the Nitro tank will last a lot longer.

Kal that's what I suspected just wanted to get a ballpark figure before I started searching for the leak/seep.
