Hey there guys,
I made a pilsener beer around september and i put it in my fridge, which is at regular fridge temperature, (35'F), and pitched my yeast (WLP-800 pilsener lager yeast). Problem is, I haven't looked at it since, and I checked the SG, and it has barely moved. So i know now that it was WAY to cold in the fridge for this yeast. Question is now, is this beer ruined?? Or can I raise the temp to the proper temp (50-55'F) and leave it?? Or rep itch the yeast after I raise the temp?? Thanks for any input.

I am not sure why you would put the wort in that cold of an environment. I am not surprised the yeast were not willing to do their job at that temp. It basically seems like you skipped primary and went straight to the lagering phase. The optimum fermentation range for that yest is listed from 50-55F. I am still new to this whole brewing thing but I think it is worth trying to save the beer before tossing it. Allow the temp to rise to 55F and see if the yeast wakes up. Once it gets to temp I wonder if the vessel should be shaken to allow the yeast to get back into suspension (not sure about that one). If it doesn't work then you may have to rack the beer off the old yeast and re-pitch with fresh yeast and hopefully that will get the job done. I look forward to hearing what others have to say about this and if you are in fact able to save your beer. Good Luck

Assuming the wort did not pick up any bacteria, which it shouldn't have, i would just let the temp rises and aerate and pitch new yeast. Even if the old yeast "wakes up", it wont hurt it to add extra yeast and restart things.
