So in brewing yesterday I had a slight mishap. Once I start I typically double check all valves and connections. Forgot one small thing. The washer that goes over the dip tube in the Mash Tun through the false bottom. It wasn't down! Didn't notice it until I added the grain and my pumps wouldn't pump. Quickly realized the problem, but damn that water is hot!
In addition to the. Al es being closed on the checklist, add making sure the washer is down! Happy brewing everyone.

noted. also, blichmann brewing gloves aren't that insulated - but you can reach quickly into a mash or something with them. if you wear another pair of gloves beneath them, then you're good to go. might be anice thing to have on hand, and they're only like $12. glad it worked out though!
