So with the great success of my first beer batch ever following Kal's advice to the letter, of course i've had people placing their orders for certain beers.

Having trouble locating the clone recipes, even looking through all my books. Could be i am not looking in the right places. I need recipes for Guiness and Smithwicks, or something really close to that.

Thanks in advance

I don't have a recipe for Guinness (IIRC it actually involves using slightly soured beer from one previous batch in a new batch) but the Google interweb seems full of ideas and clone recipes. The 4.1% ABV Dry Stout in Brewing Classic styles (great book BTW) sounds like it would be a good one. It's a beer I need to make. Best served on a stout faucet with beer gas.

For something like Smithwicks, take a look at my Pub Ale:

Maybe a bit darker caramel malt than the 27L I use, then possibly use an Irish yeast too like WY1084 or even possibly US-05.

It would also be best served through a stout faucet on beer gas (IMHO).

Kal
