Well,
I have a problem. About 2-1/2 weeks ago, I was laid-off at work. One of those bean-counter decisions...

While I have been hitting the pavement hard and already have accepted a j-o-b, I'm interviewing with another company that is more of a career position... My problem is, I'm brewing faster than I can drink! Lol. I now have a well stocked kegerator/fermentation chamber with more coming.

Ok... so maybe layoff doesn't suck too bad! lol.

I've been pretty much non-existent in the forum lately. No offense guys, I have just been CRAZY busy with job searching and interviews! Had one just this morning at 6AM!

Thanks man. I've had 3 interviews now with the same company and it seems like a great position. I just hope to get an offer letter before I actually start the job I accepted a few weeks ago. [fingers crossed]

Sorry for the bad news!

If you like, feel free to post what sort of work you're interested in and where ... maybe someone here has heard of something. You never know!

Also - sorry to hear that huaco - I got laid off a few years ago. Best thing that ever happened to me. I got a much better job with a much better company and all is good.

Good luck to you bud.

Thanks guys...
As many of you know, I am a pretty capable SolidWorks designer. Not a degree bearing engineer, but can pretty much design what needs to be done in the SolidWorks environment.

I will see if I can upload my resume to the forum and any of you willing, please disseminate the document at your will. On a side note, I have accrued over 13,000 hours on the program. Several certifications and working on more.

Good news is... I have accepted a J-O-B position and start Monday. It is quite the commute though. 1.5 hours one way. Also, I have had 3 interviews with another company and they seem VERY interested in me. I just hope to hear back from them soon enough so I don't get in too deep with the J-O-B.

As someone who has looked at countless resumes in the past (including a 17 page one I was reading today - 17? seriously??), I applaud you for keeping yours to one page with only the "important stuff". I may sound silly to some, but it speaks volumes to your organization and communication skills. Good job. Best of luck to you Craig!

One page is what most employers prefer over any other. I'm a union officer and deal with a large employer in the steel industry. I have the opportunity to spend way too much time with the labor relations and human resource people and they have spoke about this very thing. They say people need to keep it to no more then two pages or they have a hard time getting their attention. Yours looks great and anyone who looks at it will know in one minute what you bring to the company. Nice job and good luck on the new gig. Be Safe, Castermmt

Well,
I finished my first week of employment at a new job that I took just to "get me by".
Thursday, I interviewed with another company (the 4th interview with the company) and by 3pm Friday, I was called and offered a position with them. They are restructuring their entire global engineering/design division to one central location in Texas and I am the first designer they are hiring to build their new design center. I AM SOOOOOOPER EXCITED to catch a ground-level build-up of a new department with global structure!
I have my work cut out for me... that is for sure, but it will be worth while... (I just have a hunch about that).

Excellent news indeed! Congratulations Chris!
Hopefully there's less of a commute with this new position as well!

Thanks guys...
Yeah, I'm pretty blown away. I'm still receiving severance payout from my laid off job. Pretty stoked!
Later,
Craig
