Hello again,
Does anyone know how much pectin enzyme to use for 5 gallons? It states on the bottle but I am not understanding. It states 1/2tsp per gallon of juice or 1/10tsp per lbs. of fruit. I have 7lbs. of fruit so what is 7/10tsp or .7? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What purpose does Pectin play in fermentation? Ive made plenty of jelly in my days but never added it to beer!

Beer Jelly... Hmmm. I may have just come up with something there! lol.

Sounds like it'd be useful for beers with fruit... http://morebeer.com/category/pectic-enzyme.html

Its used to break down the pectin in fruit which can cause haze. It's basically a clarifier.
