While wasting time at Ikea a few months ago I found these spice jars and thought they would be perfect for organizing hop additions. They hold about 3 ounces of hops maximum and have a magnet built in that sticks directly to the control panel. I write the addition time using a dry erase marker on the clear front of them. Works well (though I wish they were a bit larger in capacity).

Neat idea.

If you have room I'd probably put up a separate flat steel plate somewhere where you can line them up nicely and get them off the control panel. I wouldn't want to knock one off by mistake as you reach/adjust the control panel and I think I'd find that they get in the way ergonomically speaking. I wouldn't want to scratch up the control panel too much either. Wink

I use little baby food containers myself for the additions and then a couple of little tupperwear containers for the two salt additions (mash + boil):

I am so going to buy a set of those. I have to make a trip to get the handles for the control panel anyway!

The Ikea website has discontinued the long handles. You may get lucky and find the store has some in stock still. At least they were not available when I was looking into sourcing all my parts a few months ago.

They are actually pretty strong magnets so you aren't going to knock one off unless you are trying. They do come with a laminated plastic over the magnet itself so that it won't scratch the surface underneath. They attach strong enough that they won't really slide across the panel when attaching/removing.
