All,
The wife and I are moving and we have been debating on where to place the taps. Our plan is to have a kreezer in the basement and run a line to the kitchen. Either mounted on the wall with a bar below or a bar with a tower. She could not picture them mounted on the wall, so I was seeing if anyone else has done this. Kal, I know in your old house, you did this, could I get a close up pic?

Also, any suggestions for keeping the lines cool. The run will be at least 14 ft, probably 30 if I place the kreezer in the right location. I have seen glycol pumps or salt water pumps with insulted beer lines.

thanks,

Insulated Lines

This looks like it might work

The taps should really be in a wall box of some sort to avoid any condensation. I had my old ones directly through the wall without a box because the back side was completely exposed so I wasn't worried about condensation. They were very much insulated as well.

All the pictures I have of the old setup are in this thread:

Thanks for the thread, that really helped answer a lot of questions. I like your review on beverage line. Got me convinced to use the Kuritek.com 1/4" Bev-seal Ultra Series 235 poly tubing with barrier. Did simgo sell it by the foot? All I can find is a 500' roll, which actually is only 112$. Maybe it is worth it to get it and split it with someone.

Yup. That was quite some time ago so I'm not sure if they still do.

My neighbor removed the "spray attachment" from his kitchen sink Faucet and installed his tap ( only one though ) right in his sink. Very convenient!

If anyone is trying to balance their lines. I found that micromatic list the resistance of the lines in their trunk lines. The lines look like the Bev-seal Ultra Series 235 poly tubing with barrier, so this should help you determine what lines you need.

I also wrote Accuflex to try to find out what their resistance per foot is on 3/8, 1/4 and 5/16ths(if they have it). The stuff micormatic uses look close. I cant find 5/16 BevSeal stuff anywhere but one place, so I wonder if it exist.

A heads up: We're affiliated with Micromatic so if anyone's interested in ordering anything from them use our links to get there! (I've updated the links above).

Here's the Micromatic home page which includes our affiliate code:

Thank you!

Kal

P.S. They make some really nice stuff... I'm hoping to have a lot of my draft system stuff in the new bar come from there.
