Went to a new irish pub this past weekend and enjoyed some Smithwicks ( Smidicks ) red ale. does anyone have a good clone recipe out there?

Anytime. Just bear in mind I've never tasted Smitwicks, so you may want to let others chime in with recipe suggestions as well.

I am a HUGE Smithwick's fan.. it's not as sweet as the Scottish Ales, but not as hoppy as a Sam Adams... my S/O enjoys it as well, so about once a month we "treat" ourselves to a 12 pack of it.
There are a number of supposed clones out there.. a Google search will net you that information. Just beat in mind that they have been tweaking and perfecting the recipe for 300 years...
