Great site! I have looked through the documentation of your build. I have just converted from coolers/keggle and propne to an all electric HERMS in the basement. I need to build a ventilation hood and I was wondering if the height and depth need to be a certain measurement? I have low ceilings where I want to put the vent hood and I was thinking of something like 60"Lx20"Dx12"H. Do you see anything wrong with those dimensions?
Stand question: would you build it any lower if you had it to do again?
As a side note - I also built a home theater in my basement. Once I get my 5 posts in I'll pm you a link to my site that shows my theater build.
thanks!

My basement ceiling is somewhat low.. a little over 7 feet.. my vent is 36"W x 24"D x 12"H making the walk under just a little over 6 feet. i'm 6 ft tall and i "fit" nicely but both my sons are over 6'2" so when they come to help brew they have to be careful.. i don't think the height matters all that much so make sure you won't be hitting your head.. Ouch!
