|
|
Does anyone have any experience with the performance difference of a copper CFC vs SS? The reason I ask is the copper CFCs have been on backorder for awhile but there is a SS option now. I know copper has better heat transfer properties than SS but the SS chiller tubing is longer. Is this enough to match the performance of the copper CFC?
Thanks!

I like stainless and thought I'd save some $$ by purchasing a stainless CFC.
I've read reviews in regard to copper vs stainless as I was curious too.
The reviews indicated SS just isn't as conductive (heat transfer wise) as copper. This probably explains why the copper is out of stock. Everyone wants one.

That is true, if all things are equal. But they are not. The tubing in the SS one is 30' long, while the tubing the copper one is 12' long. This length difference compensates for the heat transfer transfer difference.
