Hi all!
Been brewing for several years and want to level up. My buddy and I are working up the specs to pull the trigger on a 20gallon 30A system using the Blichmann kettles. I'll try to keep up with posts as to our progress so anyone who has suggestions or previous insight can chime in if they want. Kal already sent back a reply to my initial email in about 2 hours!
Well, let's see how this goes.
Marc

Good luck! It is a long journey, but a super rewarding one. Brewing my first batch on a system I had assembled myself was a great feeling. Just make sure you don't install your 7 segment displays upside down like I did

Hi guys,
Looking at the wort chillers I see that the copper one is unavailable, but the SS one is. It has TC connections on the wort pipe ends. Does this connect with the STAINLESS STEEL MALE QUICK DISCONNECT X 1.5" TRI-CLAMP QDTCM from the products page? I assume I'll have to source the o-rings and clamps as I don't see them on the products page.
Thanks,
Marc

So, on to fermenters. Ss Brewtech has 2 new models of the 7gal conical bucket that are "NEW AND IMPROVED", but I'm not so convinced. I see from your pics Kal, that the temp monitoring on your modified buckets are the horizontal temp strips. Are you still recommending them as Brewtech now has the cool digital version and a new racking valve for $50.00 more. Hmmm... I remain skeptical. I think going with the "classic" model is fine as we will be modifying them anyhow. What think you good sir?

Also, the only place that seems to have the domed lids for the 7gal cronical is Ontario Beer Kegs?

They had those back when I purchased. They were (are) called the BME or "brew master edition" version. Came with a digital display for (if I remember correctly) for about $50 more. Wasn't worth it to me. Digital doesn't mean better or more accurate. It's just different. Also means there's a batteries to change. Also means there's an additional protrusion into the vessel that needs to be cleaned around.
Cheers!
Kal

This lid here: https://shop.theelectricbrewery.com/pages/dome-lid-for-7-gallon-brew-bucket
Possibly. Stock comes and goes. Stock and parts supply has been difficult ever since the start of COVID too unfortunately. I don't keep track of who has stock where at any given time I'm afraid. Sorry!

HAHAHA!!
First order and already made a mistake. Replied back to sales to change the 4500W ripple to 5500W ripple. My mom was right, if my head wasn't attached I'd forget that too.

Email received, change noted. Not a problem! (though we can't help with lost heads I'm afraid...)

Hi Kal,
As I am using the SS wort chiller with TC wort fittings and pre threaded cooling water inlet/outlet I think I have the parts list worked out. Could you please review this and make sure I'm not missing anything?
Water in: 1/2" female/GH male
Water out: 1/2" female/GH female
Wort in: TC QD male
Wort out: TC 1/2" male to 1/2" female T with thermometer and QD male per your usual instructions.
The pre threaded water connections are pretty straight forward and the TC wort out is the only real modified connection. Is the T ok to be directly threaded to the TC male?
Thanks.
