I have the Danby DBC039A1BDB. These darn things automatically reset themselves to 54F if the power is lost for a brief amount of time. IMO not very helpful when one is using the DBC039A1BDB for lagering, lager fermenting, etc.

Perhaps there is a smart person on this forum with the ability to indicate how to bypass the built in temp controller with the DBC039A1BDB to use an external temp control (for example, a Ranco ETC-111000).

I can upload a DBC039A1BDB wiring diagram if needed.

KB,

I've split your post into its own topic as it wasn't related to the buy & sell thread you originally posted in. Cheers!

Good luck with this. I just checked my 039A1BDB and it doesn't have this issue.

"Temperature memory" is advertised in the manual for some of the newer Danby models. I suspect this was a feature Danby added to this and other units after this issue became a problem. If the temperature controller could be bypassed easily, maybe some of the newer models that don't have the same temp range as the older models could still be used for a variety of fermentation temperatures.
