Saw that on my IG feed. Looking good. Smile

I have a suspicion that this one may become a staple in my rotation.

It's taken a permanent spot on my tap list for about 12-18 months now!

Hi Kal,

Just a sanity check - 160F for the mash... Never did anything that high. I figured it would have been corrected by now if a typo but just want to be certain. Will be brewing this on Saturday.

Thanks!

The 160F is correct. You can read my Electric Hop Candy Jr recipe (which this Electric Creamsicle recipe is based off of) for more info on why: https://shop.theelectricbrewery.com/pages/electric-hop-candy-jr-new-england-pale-ale

Happy brewing!

My Spikes conical arrives today. I'm brewing this recipe on Sunday to pop the cherry on the new fermenter! I have the yeast starter going now. Can't wait to experience this one in the glass! Somehow I expect that it won't last very long this summer.

Good luck with your brew day on Sunday! I just kegged some of this myself recently... it's going to go in the outdoor kegerator, ready for summer! I have a feeling I'll probably be brewing it again before the weather gets hot, but that's ok!

Kal, I just wanted to say thanks for everything you have shared with us.

Started heating strike water at about 6:30 this morning, and now I'm done brewing this and enjoying a beverage while watching the Brewers/Cubs game. I ended up with 10.5 gallons into the fermenter (a little shy of my goal, but the SG was right on). I had a little more kettle loss than normal (partially due to my new conical location -- I needed 17' of hose to get to it from my BK) and a I underestimated my grain absorption a bit.

The wort tasted amazing, and the Sabro hops have a wonderful aroma.

I love having the 50A panel - while my HLT was warming up, I was able to heat 5 gallons of PBW in my BK to clean out the new conical. That was a timesaver.

During the boil and whirlpool I was able to bottle a batch of summer wine too.

All in all it was a great day.
