Thanks Kal, really want to give it a go as well but I suppose I’ll have to wait until I get more time at home and drink it fresh. Any recommendations from your recipes that would be good for keeping over longer periods?
The ones that would definitely lose hop flavour/aroma fastest are anything in the "India Pale Ales" category. The "American Ale" category is mostly pale ales that are also hop forward but not quite as much as the IPAs. I often have one of the Pale Ales on tap for ~6 months without much loss of hop flavour/aroma over time.
Even though they're not hop forward, Weizens are also generally consumed fresh/young. They'll still taste fine after ~6 months but may have turned clear (turned into 'kristallweizen'). Some brewers will simply shake their jostle their keg once and a while to keep the haziness in solution.
Anything else on that recipe page would be fine, though don't let any of this be a hard/fast rule. Brew them, wait, and see for yourself what you think. I have my Belgian IPA still on tap now (kegged over 6 months ago) and I'm really enjoying it.
