I’m not a social media expert by any means but I have searched this forum and can’t find any discussions. I built the electric brewery and when I ordered parts, I got 3 PIDs that are MyPin TA4. In the book for wiring, it shows wiring the SYL-2352. The layouts are different. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the MyPin TA4? I’d really like to have and alarm go off when I get close to my set temperatures.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

You'll have to refer to the manuals for both in order to map the differences. For example, AC power is applied to terminals 9 and 10 to power a SYL-2352. That would likely be completely different for your PIDs.

Here's the pinout for our recommended SYL-2352 PIDs:

13 and 1: ALARM 1
13 and 14: ALARM 2
7: SSR +
8: SSR -
9 and 10: AC power (85-260V)
3 and 4: RTD probe common signal (red wires)
5: RTD probe (white wire)

Pull the manual for your PID and map it out.

Make sure as well that whatever PID you use has similar (or the same) features too, including:

- SSR output (not relay)
- support for alarming
- powered by 120V or 240V AC (depending on which control panel model you're building)

I.e. All the things I list here: https://shop.theelectricbrewery.com/pages/syl-2352-pid-temperature-controller-1-16-din-size-ssr-output-85-264vac-supply

These are very common options that most PID manufacturers will support, but you need to make sure you purchase the right model that supports these options.

Be aware that the programming will also be done differently. See our control panel setup instructions for how we program the PIDs we use / recommend to know how you should be programming whatever PIDs you end up with. It's here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/control-panel-setup

Cheers!

Kal
