I'm surprised at the humidity level. The basement is not air conditioned I take it?

When moved in a couple months ago, we had the HVAC contractor put in a couple of registers in the basement. There is an inline humidifier in the ductwork- I may check the setting although I thought it only applies in the winter when you need to humidify the air...

Brewed yesterday and checked the humidity level during the session with the exhaust fan running. Essentially no change in humidity level (~45 to 48%) before, during and after the brew session. The exhaust fan worked well.

I've seen it done both ways. In the photos Boby from Brewhardware has shared on facebook he actually mounts it to his lid.
