I use the recommended 7/8" OD silicone tubing. However, IMO, the silicone tubes are not very durable.

Anyone recommend another tube type to use with our electric brewery?

I'm not sure what you mean by not durable. Can you explain? I've been using the same hoses since 2009 with zero issues, same as many brewers.

For those looking for silicone tubing we sell it here: https://shop.theelectricbrewery.com/collections/hose-part/products/high-temperature-food-grade-silicone-tubing-1-2-id-3-4-od

To build your own with disconnects, see our instructions: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/hoses

Guess I'm cursed as during a brew on Monday, November 4th, in the mash step, I see a nice arc of wort spraying onto the brewery floor from the hose going into the pump (I didn't have this problem as recently as 3 weeks ago when I brewed, otherwise I would have fixed at that time.). Attempt to determine where the leak originates. Once again, at the smooth band clamp. Turn everything off. Close all valves. Drain hose (as best as possible). Snip off hose section with cut, reassemble things, open valves, turn control panel on and continue.
