First time poster here. Laying the groundwork for building my ElectricBrewery and loooking at ventilation fan options. While searching amazon for a variable speed controller for the Vortex VTX600, I discovered a couple other apparently similar fans typically used for grow room ops. One in particular is the Active Air Hydrofarm ACDF6. Slightly lower CFM (400), and maybe a little quieter in a side by side test i viewed on YouTube. Also about half the price of the Vortex. Has anyone here used this fan or have any feedback on it? From photos it seems like it might lack an efficient means of connecting to ductwork without adaptors. Gets apparently good reviews from the cannabis crowd.

Welcome to the forum!

This fan here I presume?: https://amzn.to/2Yu8mU2

Whatever fan you use, make sure to confirm with the manufacturer that the fan is appropriate for use in range hood applications where steam and heat are evacuated. That's what I did with the recommended Vortex fan: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/Vortex-VTX600-6-Powerfan-452-CFM

Instructions here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/ventilation

Cheers!

Kal

Gettinjiggy.

I have a new VTX600 that proved difficult to plumb into my space and I'm not going to use it. If you're interested you can make me an offer.
