so I had 2 ideas for chilling, the top one I use now, what happens is I fill the hlt with a block of ice plus a few bags then run the wort through the coils and out, that's the top picture, with the bottom picture you add the same ice but run the wort through the chiller and the water from the tap goes into the ice and ice water feeds through the chiller so it's essentially a prechiller

it's all 1 inch TC which is similar to 1/2" mpt just like hoses and my system is just like this now with hoses, I do have some waste but not much because whats in the pipes is actually trub when filling the carboy so its fine but cleaning is easy just use the water from chilling, I also flush the whole system after brewing now and use a strong spray through everything I'm a little worried I would still have to take apart a few pieces to clean on this set up

so I've found a few 3/4 and 1/2" TC parts and fittings but as of today haven't found any pipe, I'm thinking it's available just haven't found it yet, found a few places that will do custom TC fabrication that may be the way to go

Ok, so I finally brewed on Nov 23rd. Time to put that in kegs and dump the yeast on something else. Thinking about brewing an Amber Ale this Sunday.

Anyone else planning on brewing this weekend?

I'm going to try weather permitting, I think I reached my limit to this yeast cake I've been using for the last 5 brews, just kegged it and it has a strong Acetaldehyde flavor, weird thing is it fermented completely different than the last 4 so must be some rouge yeast in there
I created a new colony this week of fresh 34/70 with multiple starters so I have 1/2 pint of pure slurry to work with and yes, it’s lager time for me

I've messed up an aspect of the Electric Hop Candy each of the last three times I brewed it, and it turned out delicious each time. I'm planning to brew it this weekend as the (probably) last batch before our neighborhood homebrew showcase in January.

Also, I hope to try to bang a keg mouth back into round as it cost me another tank of CO2.

I brewed 11 gallons of a new Amber recipe. Pretty smooth brew day. Was watching the Chiefs game while brewing.

I need to bottle the AbbyNormal Glutton Free Lambic.

Getting the animated Christmas tree up and running has been an all consuming project lately.

Finally got a stash of homebrew built up again. I want to brew a RIS soon. Not sure if I'll get to it this weekend or not but soon.

For reference, my wife's name is Abby, and she had brain surgery about the time I brewed this. It's been aging for a year.

About 3.98 final pH. Got 28 750ml bottles out of it.

Label is still a work in progress.

Brewed my Russian Imperial Stout this weekend. Got better efficiency then I expected but I did sparge really really slow. Took 130 mins to gather 15 gallons of wort. Boiled down to 11 gallons (1.118 OG). I was also able to get enough second runnings to make 4 gallons of 1.039 beer. That was a nice plus.
