I’m trying to convert my g2s with linear valves, to quick connects like Kal uses. But the g2 has a male thread on it; and I’m not thinking it will work with the parts listed on hoses page. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you're interested in replacing the valves entirely (and why you'd want to do this), take a look here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27425

Kal, I've read the link you posted there, and have a hard time seeing why one would want to remove the g2 valve, I actually installed one on my boil pot for one very great purpose: It allows me to very precisely fine tune my sparge rate. Using a Blichmann autosparge in the mash, and the g2 as an INPUT into the boil kettle via a whirlpool jet. This allows me to run my HLT pump (pumping my sparge water out of my HLT into the mash) and my Mash pump (pumping the wort out of the mash tun and into the kettle) at a very precise rate. With my larger set up (32g) this lets me handsfree sparge for 1-2 hours.

Now if one were to only have a single outlet on their Kettle, i could see where it may be senseless, but having a whirlpool inlet with a g2 valve and a simple 3 piece "drain" valve on my kettle works great for me.

Although you CAN get your flow rate controlled with a simple valve, the linear valve really makes it a breeze.

I do hate that there is no stop detent, however when i open mine to FULL OPEN i just hold onto the valve, turn it all the way open, and then turn it in a 1/4 turn.
