I would not use two false bottoms in one kettle.

As well, using a Blichmann false bottom in anything but a Blichmann kettle will not prove anything as part of the reason their false bottom works so well in their kettle is the stepped bottom in the kettle: It creates a good seal all around to avoid side-wall shunting. Put their false bottom in any other kettle and it will behave completely differently. You will most likely have a gap and the fluid will want to go there and you'll have poor results. Does that mean that their false bottom doesn't work correctly? No, it means you're using the false bottom incorrectly as they're only meant to be be used in their kettles that have a stepped bottom. The false bottom is part of a system that involves both the kettle and false bottom.

I wouldn't see how using two false bottoms would hurt anything other than loosing mash space. Is there something I'm not thinking of? Or you saying that because one should be sufficient. I think in this case it couldn't hurt to try.

I kind of get what he's saying the holes don't line up and the Blichmann needs space underneath but it would be lying flat on top of a restricted outflow instead of wide open so it would reduce my recirculation speed and possibly create a stuck mash, but really the initial idea was to test to see if it fixes anything not to use it every day, I have no problems recirculating and getting high efficiency upwards of 95% mash and 85% brew house but I loss mash efficiency by 5 points doing a very good batch sparge so I want my fly sparing back lol

One should be sufficient. If the existing one doesn't work right, don't use it.

I brewed today and made a change, I didn't add the extra false bottom but I stirred thoroughly right before mash out and kept recirculating to set the grain bed again when I started fly sparging I had the same slow and fast stream in the boil kettle but not as bad and after playing with the valve I settled on a good point, I double checked every so often and it stayed the entire hour and got a big efficiency increase
