Hey everyone! I've been remodeling and building the brewery for the past few months and was finally able to brew on my new electric system for the first time. I only made two dumb mistakes: forgot to close the outlet valve on the mash tun before starting to pump the strike water, and forgetting to open the water pump valve after mashing in. I got a little bit of a spill from the former, which wasn't a big deal. The latter resulted in the HLT being heated to about 172F (target mash temp was 149F). I removed the lid from both HLT and MLT and stopped circulating. Luckily the MLT only made it to 154F. They both gradually cooled down enough to start pumping again for 25 minutes or so.
Pics below.
Before pics. This was a spare bedroom. The closet is actually a narrow hallway which leads to the HVAC unit and some shelving where I'm keeping my rarely-used equipment.
In progress! We added recessed LED lights. There's a bathroom on the other side of the wall from the sink, so the plumbing was straightforward.
LVT on the walls.
We put LVP flooring all throughout the basement. It's still dusty from all the work.
The transition from the hardwood upstairs is a little awkward, but not a big deal.
Almost done!
I was really worried to punch this hole for a 1.5" TC bulkhead, but it turned out great!
Mounting the pumps in the SS equipment stands.
The power cables for the pumps were too short, so I had to splice an extension cord onto them. Added the twist-lock plugs and wrap. They look pretty good!
Took a break from brewery setup to bottle a batch of mead I've had aging for 9 months or so.
Fully assembled and water measured and treated for the first brew!
Mashing. Wort is nice and clear!
Sparging!
Kettle is filling up!
Boiling!
Spent grain. Not sure why this is picture-worthy, but here it is.
During the boil, I got some condensation leaking through my hood fan. I'll need to figure out how to fix this.
Pumping to fermenting vessels. The wort is nice and clear!
Successful first brew day on the new electric system!

Looks good! Thanks for sharing!
An FYI that our (old) forum software doesn't resize images linked to external sites so your 4000x3000 pixel images are shown full size here, causing them to blow out on most regularly sized screens. You may want to resize. Cheers!

Oh, yikes. Okay, I resized the images so it should be a little saner now. Might have to clear cache.

It's a German Pilsner. Basically Kal's recipe, which is basically all of the recipes
I took a few more photos, some with a wide-angle camera.

I have two 3-gallon corny kegs which were purchased new - they're hard to find used. The rest were gradually accumulated over time. I got four of them for $30 apiece from AIH during a sale.
