Could a standardised UK 3 pin plug and sockets be used in your system. As the plugs we use here are very different to those used in Europe as UK plugs have to be fuse fitted from 3a to 13a for domestic household electrical supply. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately not, as a standard 3 pin plug (either in the UK or anywhere else in the world) doesn't provide enough power. You need 240V at 30A. Complete details on what's needed for a UK setup here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25393
