I'm brewing a small 2.5 G experimental batch of vintage Barklay Perkins Pale Ale from 1805.
Since the boil element wouldn't be covered, I'll be trickling the wort into a separate 5 G boil kettle.
I'm guessing I should use 10 gallons in the HLT to cover the HERMS even though I don't need that much water?

Thanks Kal.
The original recipe docs show a 155 mash and a 180 sparge. I just want to make sure it keeps up!
Extra HLT water seems like some good insurance.
