The new bar is coming together finally. I was curious if anyone had experience with root beer or cider on tap? Looking for some recommendations on how many volumes CO2 to shoot for and about how much 1/4” beer line has worked... Thanks.
Cheers!

Creepy,

No Root Beer experience, but I carb Cider by PSI (Because my wife understands PSI vs volumes and it's for her)

Usually about 13 PSI works for most normal ciders. Pineapple tends to want about 1 psi less. I forget the actual line length since I'm stuck in the Stan for a while (still waiting on a class date) but it was balanced lines for 2-2.5 Vols, so about 13psi.

3.5-4.0 volumes of CO2 is what I've always been told for Soda.

Excellent. Thanks gents! That’s a good starting off point for me at least. The kids are anxious to make some root beer and Mama is itching for me to keg this cider we made. Hoping all goes well.

Master, good to see your well. If you aren’t scheming constantly on that brewery while you’re out there I don’t know what you’re doing. I must have completely missed the memo... congrats on the new gig. Sorry for not catching that earlier.

Cheers!

I read a lot of brewing books on orbit, and do a lot of recipe design on my laptop. I also plan out my fermenter schedule.

Hunting Ebay for usable cheap gear is also a big time suck. Other than that I just go to the gym. It's pretty boring here.

I've been pretty quiet online about the new job. I guess the mothership in Atlanta is worried about social media as of late, so they told us to keep it quiet and do not mention them by name.

Cider wise, i have a blueberry cider on tap and a Spiced Apple Ginger cider that is ready to tap once the blueberry kicks. Abby wants me to make a Gluten Free Lambic but she's a New Yorker and not exactly patient. That's where most of the research has gone this trip.
