Hi all, I have an issue that I can not get the PIDS to read the correct temputure. If I measure with my thermal pen its massively out. Hot or cold. If I adjust the SC (providing I am doing it correctly) I can start from the correct temp but after 40 minutes the PID reads a little higher from starting temp yet the thermal pen is reading near boil?

Now, just to confirm on the XLR I have:

Pin 1> PID 3 red wire
Pin 3> PID 4 red wire
Pin 2> PID 5 white wire

Can anyone recommend where to go from here?
Thanks, Lee

The pinout on those PIDs is different from the ones that i use/recommend in the instructions. I checked the manual and you need to do:

Pin 1> PID 4 red wire
Pin 3> PID 5 red wire
Pin 2> PID 3 white wire

For complete details refer to the PID user manual.

Good luck!

Kal

Thanks Kal for taking the time to look. I had, and I came up with what you said however I get orAL everytime it's wired this way. Checked all wire and connectors making sure I have correct wires to pins etc. I'm stumped.

Not sure then! The manual shows that pins 4/5 are the common wires and pin 3 the other. I'd trace back with a multimeter set to continuity testing to see if maybe you've got some wires crossed somewhere.

Make sure to check all the PID settings too, such as telling it what kind of temperature probe you have.

Good luck!
