Hi,

OK so I'm here hoping to find a litthe help....I will endeavour to add in more info if I don't have it in this post.

So here's my ordeal,

I have tried many times to run the auto tune....to no avail...when I start auto tune...it simply ramps to its maximum temp and stays there...

the pid is in its stock programming format...auberins syl 2352

When in auto tune, when the temp exceeds the set point, the pid green light goes out...the ssr light is out....but the element keeps ramping until boil..
And it stays there...it seems that no mater what the configuration it alays gets power to boil...I've tried it again today and it would boil dry if let to its demise..

It also seems as soon as I switch it to either hlt or boil....it gets power to the element....pid and ssr lights are out...

I've tried to go back and review the wiring diagrams...pid startup document......I'm going to stare at it some more...lol

Thanks

I'm assuming this is a panel you built yourself sourcing your own parts. Sounds like a wiring issue somewhere around the power output relay and ELEMENT select switch. You're feeding power continuously whenever the ELEMENT select switch is in either ON position instead of having the PID/SSR decide when power should be on.

Check out our troubleshooting tips: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25460

Specifically the section "My heating element is not firing at all! (or firing continuously)".

Good luck!

Kal
