Can you measure the DC voltage going into the voltmeter with the harness connected? (The same way you showed the 240V AC being measured).

I'd turn it up to 4.8V DC first.

Hi Kal.
I got it to work in was gently pulLing on the wires on the harness and one of the contacts seem to be broken so I took that one out of the old harness. So it must not have been given a connection to the pin on the meter
