We're in the process of putting together a 2 bbl nano-system for a tasting room and growler fill station for an already established restaurant. Anybody have experience putting Kal's system together in this size, approximate cost and any other tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Damar,

As you may have already seen, our FAQ includes a pricing breakdown assuming a 30A control panel, 2 heating elements, 20 gallon kettles, and that you build everything yourself. This is for producing up to 10-20 gallons of beer per batch.

Below are the same estimates but now with larger 55 gallon Blichmann kettles with extensions for producing 2 bbl (62 gallons) or so. It includes a 50A control panel for 30+ gallons, 4 heating elements, and the assumption that you purchase as much as you can (all of the electrical) already pre-built by us through our products page here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/products
Other items available here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/parts-list-for-building

- Hot Liquor Tank: $1335 ($670 Blichmann boilermaker kettle, $375 two heating elements, $290 plumbing)
- Mash/Lauter Tun: $945 ($865 Blichmann boilermaker kettle + false bottom, $80 plumbing)
- Boil Kettle: $1169 ($670 Blichmann boilermaker kettle, $375 two heating elements, $114 Hop Stopper, $10 plumbing)
- Kettle extensions for all 3 kettles to go from 1 to 2 bbl: $1500
- Hoses: $325
- Pumps: $915 ($790 pumps, $125 electrical and plumbing)
- Wort Chiller: $342 ($240 counterflow chiller, $102 plumbing)
- Temperature Probes: $201
- 50A Control Panel & power cord: $3040

Total cost: $9772 USD, not including shipping/handling/taxes/duties

Other items also not included:

- Installation of a standard 240V/50A stove outlet in the brewery (price varies)
- Fermenters, brite tanks, etc. (all of the cold side process stuff which we don't deal with and will vary based on your throughput, beer styles, produced, and so forth - only things you know.)
- Ventilation system.
- Grain mill.
- Tables, sinks, etc.
- Items to use the brewery such as ingredients, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Anything to do with serving (this is more about throughput)

Prices on some of these components may change daily so best you confirm yourself just to be sure.

Good luck!

Kal

You're welcome! Next time I'm down the 401 in that direction I'll let you know! Wink
